Creator and Sustainer of All Things

Acts 17:24-25

24 The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples made by human hands.
25 Nor is He served by human hands, as if He needed anything, because He Himself gives everyone life and breath and everything else.

Nehemiah 9:6

6 You alone are the Lord. You created the heavens, the highest heavens with all their host, the earth and all that is on it, the seas and all that is in them. You give life to all things, and the host of heaven worships You.

One True God or Many Gods?

5 I am the Lord, and there is no other; there is no God but Me. I will equip you for battle, though you have not known Me,

How Does God Reveal Himself to Us

Through His Creation

Psalm 19:1-4

1 The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands.
2 Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they reveal knowledge.
3 Without speech or language, without a sound to be heard,
4 their voice has gone out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world.

Romans 1:20

20 For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood from His workmanship, so that men are without excuse.

Through His Prophets

Hebrews 1:1

1 On many past occasions and in many different ways, God spoke to our fathers through the prophets.

Luke 24:44-45

44 Jesus said to them, “These are the words I spoke to you while I was still with you: Everything must be fulfilled that is written about Me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets and the Psalms.”
45 Then He opened their minds to understand the Scriptures.

Through the Holy Spirit

John 14:26

26 But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have told you.

Through His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ

Hebrews 1:2

2 But in these last days He has spoken to us by His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, and through whom He made the universe.

John 1:18

18 No one has ever seen God, but the one and only Son, who is Himself God and is at the Father’s side, has made Him known.

15 The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.

Goodness

2 Bless the Lord, O my soul, and do not forget all His kind deeds –

Forgives Those Who Truly Repent

8 The Lord is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in loving devotion.
9 He will not always accuse us, nor harbor His anger forever.
10 He has not dealt with us according to our sins or repaid us according to our iniquities.
11 For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is His loving devotion for those who fear Him.
12 As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us.

Yet His Justice Demands Judgment Against the Unrepentant

Exodus 34:6-7

6 Then the Lord passed in front of Moses and called out: “The Lord, the Lord God, is compassion and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in loving devotion and faithfulness,
7 maintaining loving devotion to a thousand generations, forgiving iniquity, transgression, and sin. Yet He will by no means leave the guilty unpunished; He will visit the iniquity of the fathers on their children and grandchildren to the third and fourth generations.”

Romans 2:5

5 But because of your hard and unrepentant heart, you are storing up wrath against yourself for the day of wrath, when God’s righteous judgment will be revealed.
